Another thing is, increased shelf life is among the main benefits of food preservatives.

Preservatives and additives are added during the manufacturing or processing stage. For example sulphites used in wine, and nitrates used in meat.

Human health can be negatively impacted, though, when too much of a preservative is added. To sum it all up, practice reading labels and be aware of potential preservatives or additives that may affect your overall wellbeing.
